According to
this article, Ryan Kelly is listed as a 5-star recruit that hasn't lived up to his billing.
Was he as good out the gate as we would have wished? Probably not, but he has steadily improved each season and was quite possible the most important player on the team down the stretch. Clearly Austin Rivers was the best player, but Kelly's contribution to this team goes way beyond points scored. I'm fairly sure that Duke would have made a deeper run in the Tournament if we had a healthy Ryan Kelly.
Also, you've also have to take into consideration that he's played on teams that starred Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith, Jon Scheyer, Austin Rivers, and Kyrie Irving.
With that said, we should all look forward to an amazing season from Ryan Kelly. There will be no doubt the Ryan Kelly will live up to his 5-star billing.
Does anyone else feel he hasn't lived up to his billing?
